Workshop Proposals

ACI2020 call for Workshop Proposals

We are inviting proposals in any ACI-related area to provide opportunities for participants to share focused discussions and work activities around specific issues or topics. Workshops will be held on the first day of the conference.

COVID-19 update: Should the conference need to take place entirely virtually, workshops would have to be virtualised too. In this case, planned activities could be run during the week leading up to the conference (for example, participants could work individually on prototypes and film their activities), with a shared virtual event on the workshop day (10 Nov 2020). Proposals should clearly explain the envisaged remote activities.
Should it be possible to hold the conference physically (with the option of remote participation), workshops could take place physically but would need to offer remote participation for those unable to attend physically. In this case, workshop proposals should detail both proposed co-located activities and alternative remote activities, as well as specifying how remote participants will be able to take part with physical participants.
Workshop organisers are welcome to submit proposals for entirely virtual workshops regardless of whether the conference will have a physical component.

In any case, workshop proposals should include the following:

  • an extended abstract of no more than 4 pages plus references, detailing the workshop’s motivation, aims and proposed activity program, expected number of participants, and short biographies of the organizers
  • a call for participation of up to 500 words

The above must be submitted as a *single* PDF file in the ACM Interim Template (please note this is the old template, referred to as 'interim layout').

Proposals will be peer-reviewed and selected based on their potential impact for the discipline as well as their potential for attracting participants.
